How to Factory Reset Your Sensor

Heads up
A successful factory reset requires both of the following:

  1. Completing the factory reset workflow in the eSphere app (Steps 1–5 below).
  2. Pressing and holding the physical button on the sensor until the LED changes from blinking green to solid blue, then releasing it.
  3. Forgetting the sensor in your phone's Bluetooth settings — open your phone's Bluetooth settings and tap Forget on "HomeAware" so it can be paired cleanly next time.

If any of these steps — the in-app process, the physical button press, or forgetting the device in Bluetooth — is skipped, the reset may not complete successfully and the sensor may remain associated with your account or fail to re-pair.

Good to Know

A factory reset returns the sensor to its original settings and erases its data and pairing. It can't be undone — but you can re-add the sensor anytime by following the standard installation flow.

Reset basics

  • Reset is permanent. All sensor data and Wi-Fi credentials are erased.
  • Re-pairing is easy. After a reset, just run through the install guide steps 11–22 again.
  • Keep the sensor plugged in. Resetting requires the sensor to be powered.
  • Bluetooth must be on. The app uses Bluetooth to confirm the reset.

Reset in the eSphere App

Follow these five steps in the app to remove the sensor from your account.

Step 1 — Open the More tab

Select the More tab at the bottom of your screen.

Press and hold the physical button on the sensor for approximately 15 seconds, or until the LED changes from blinking green to solid blue, then release the button.

Heads up
Keep holding until the lights confirm the reset (blinking green to solid blue). If you let go too early, the reset is cancelled.

  • Lights will change. The sensor returns to setup mode (blinking green / solid blue).
  • It disappears from your home. The sensor is removed from your account.
  • Forget HomeAware in Bluetooth. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings and tap Forget on "HomeAware".
  • Ready to install again. You can now add this sensor to any eSphere account.
