Assigning a Device to a Profile

Follow these steps to assign one of your household devices to an existing profile.

 

Step 1 — Open the Household Tab

Navigate to the "Household" tab at the bottom of the app.

Step 2 — Select the Device

Select "Devices" in the right-hand corner, then scroll through your devices and tap the one you want to assign to a profile.

Step 3 — Choose "Assign to Profile"

Select "Assign to Profile".

Step 4 — Select the Profile

The screen will display all members of your household. Select the profile you would like to assign the device to.

Step 5 — Review & Save

Review the selected device and tap "Save".

Step 6 — Confirm "Use This Device"

Tap the "Use This Device" option.

Step 7 — Set as Primary or Secondary

A pop-up will appear saying "Profile already has primary device". Select "Assign as Secondary" if you'd like this device to be part of the profile, or select "Replace Primary Device" if you'd like it to become the primary.

Your phone is used as your primary presence device. If you leave home with your phone, your profile will be shown as "Away" — even if your other devices stay behind.

Step 8 — Success!

You'll receive a pop-up confirming your profile was updated.

Step 9 — View the Profile's Devices

To see all devices associated with a profile, select the profile and navigate to "Devices". Every device linked to that profile will be listed there.
